“I am too busy to _________”

What does the phrase “too busy” actually mean? You may be like me where you believe that being “too busy” to do something is more of a state of mind (or a belief) than a factual statement. After all we can all make time for the things we really want to do. We are all deluded to a certain degree. Delusions may be part of what keeps us out of the asylum. Unfortunately, some folks have surpassed the tipping point of being able to function in a reasonably realistic manner and end up in the asylum. But I digress….

What goes through your mind when someone tells you they are too busy? Too busy to respond to your text message, too busy to return a phone call, or too busy to do some task? Yes, there are only so many hours in the day. But for the most part we get to choose how to spend those 24 hours. We make a choice if we are up all night, watch too much TV or other actions that take us away from what needs to be accomplished. Could it be that being “too busy” is a form of procrastination? What say you? Comment below and let me know your thoughts on the subject.
