…National Cinnamon Crescent Day to be exact. How else would think of a crescent? Yes, today is national cinnamon crescent day so we have yet another reason to eat a sweet treat.
The instructions on how to celebrate this day are to bake up a batch of cinnamon crescent rolls. Then what? Do you eat them? Do you give them away? “cinnamon is a good source of manganese, fiber, iron and calcium.” Yeah, but what about the fact that wheat is the most difficult grain to digest? And the little tidbit about sugar being an inflammatory agent?
One brand of cinnamon crescent rolls has eleven grams of sugar and 355 calories. That equates to 2.2 teaspoons (of nine that are recommended maximums for men and six that are recommended for women per day). Oh yeah, and a typical meal is best to be around 500 calories so if you are going to have that cinnamon crescent roll it will cost you almost one meal.
Do your waistline and health a favor and ignore this National Day….
